Delete your Riffgame data
Last updated: 19 May 2026
Riffgame is anonymous-only at launch — we don't ask for your name, email, or phone number, and there is no sign-up. Your games and credits live under a random identifier that the app generates the first time you open it. This page explains how to delete the data stored against that identifier.
Option 1 — Uninstall the app
Because Riffgame doesn't know who you are, uninstalling the app severs your device's link to the anonymous identifier. Without contacting us, the data effectively becomes unrecoverable from your end. (We may still hold the server-side copy until it ages out — see "What we keep" below — but neither you nor anyone else can sign back in to it.)
Option 2 — Ask us to scrub the server-side copy
If you want us to actively delete the data, email [email protected] and include:
- The subject line "Data deletion request".
- Your Riffgame user ID. You can find it in the app at Settings → About → User ID. Without the ID we cannot link a deletion request to your data.
We process email requests within 30 days and reply once the data has been removed.
What gets deleted
- All games you have created, including every saved version of each game.
- All chat messages between you and the Riffgame agent.
- Your riff balance, subscription status, and usage history stored against your anonymous identifier.
- Your OneSignal push-notification subscription tied to that identifier (if you enabled notifications).
- The anonymous Firebase Authentication record itself.
What we keep (and why)
The following data is retained after deletion, because we need it for legal, security, or accounting reasons:
- App Store / Google Play purchase receipts — kept by Apple and Google according to their own policies. Riffgame cannot delete these on your behalf; contact Apple or Google directly.
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics — play counts and crash counts that no longer identify you.
- Server logs — request logs containing your IP address are retained for up to 30 days for security/abuse monitoring and then automatically purged.
- Backups — encrypted Firestore backups may contain a copy of your data for up to 35 days before they expire on rotation.
Cancelling your subscription separately
Deleting your data does not automatically cancel an active subscription. To cancel:
- iOS: iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Riffgame Pro → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Riffgame → Cancel.
